On May 3, 2002 Jon and I were married in the Mesa Arizona Temple for Time And All Eternity.

Zach and Zayne's Birth Stories

Zach and Zayne have been asking me to tell them about the day that they were born.  I feel bad that I have never written them down.  So before I forget more details, I decided to create a family blog so I can record their stories.

Zachary's Birth Story

Zachary Andrew Parker was born on November 6, 2003.  His original due date was November 13th.   It was a Wednesday Morning November 5th.  I had a 10:30 doctors appt with Dr. Holmes so I left work and headed to his office.  The 2 weeks prior he tried to help induce my labor by stripping my membranes to no avail!  We thought we would have another Halloween baby, but, Zachary was not ready.  I had preeclampsia, I was very swollen and my blood pressure was high.  Dr. Holmes decided to check me into the hospital.  I called Jon at his work and he came straight to the hospital.  The day I got checked in it was unusally HOT!  It was 103 degrees.  They started me on pitocin around 11:30.  At about 2:30 I was dilated enough to ge my epidural!  I am so grateful for modern medicine!  For some reason the Pitocin and the Epidural made me sick.  I ended up throwing up in my own hair because I was not expecting it.  So gross.  Around 12:00 am, my doctor had me start pushing.  After over 2 hours of pushing Zachary arrived at 2:09 am!  It was so amazing.  He was so small.  He weighed 7lbs 11 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long.  When we left the hospital 4 days later the temperature had dropped significantly.  It was 70 degrees out and windy.  I felt horrible because all I had packed for him were warm clothes because it was so hot when I checked in.  He was such a good baby from the very beginning.  At about 3 weeks he was sleeping through the night and was a quiet even tempered baby.  We were so lucky to have such a wonderful baby.

Zayne's Birth Story

Zayne Alexander Parker was born on March 2, 2007.  I had a doctors appt with Dr. Holmes the same doctor that delivered Zach, the day before I delivered.  He ended up stripping my membranes.  He told me to come in the following morning before his office opened and he would strip my membranes again.  He really wanted to help me get this little guy coming.  I had preeclampsia again, and was extremely swollen, but my blood pressure was not high enough to get me admitted into the hospital.  We dropped of Zachary at Grandma-pa Parkers house and Jon and I went in to see Dr. Holmes and his nurse.  While he was stripping my membranes my water broke!  So awesome!  I headed home, took a shower, got my bag and then we headed back to the hospital.  By 11:30 I was in my room and by about 1:30 I had my epidural.  I was sleepy so I took a nap.  (gotta love havin an epidural).  At about 4:30 the doctor came back in to check me and said I was ready to push.  He had a doctor intern with him who observed the delivery.  It was really cool to hear my doctor explain everything that was happening to the other doctor.  I only had to push a handful of times, Zayne was born at 5:05 pm he weighed 7lbs 13ounces and was 20 inches long.  Just like Zach, he was a great baby.  After about 2 months he was sleeping through the night.  He was never fussy and was a joy to have around.
